VARs Darren England and Daniel Cook will return to Premier League duty this weekend following their error in last month’s fixture jackpot between Tottenham and Liverpool jackpot
England and Cook were the VAR and VAR assistant respectively when Liverpool forward Luis Diaz’s goal was incorrectly ruled out for offside in Tottenham’s 2-1 home win jackpot
Both officials were stood down the following week, but England will be back as the fourth official for Brentford’s home game against Burnley on Saturday and Cook will return as assistant referee for Sheffield United’s home match against Manchester United jackpot
Miscommunication jackpot between VAR England and referee Simon Hooper led to Diaz’s goal being wrongly ruled out on September 30, with the incident later described by referees’ chief Howard Webb as “a clear error” jackpot
Hooper is the designated VAR for Newcastle’s home game against Crystal Palace on Saturday jackpot

England mistakenly thought the on-field officials had ruled Diaz to be onside, which meant that when he told them ‘check complete’ they believed he had upheld their on-field decision and restarted play with a free-kick jackpot
Once play had restarted, there was nothing the VARs could do to revisit the decision under existing protocols jackpot
Referees’ body Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) said it would develop a new VAR communication protocol in an effort to avoid similar mistakes being made in future jackpot
PGMOL said the protocol would “enhance the clarity of communication jackpot between the referee and the VAR team in relation to on-field decisions” jackpot
VARs will now also confirm the outcome of the checking process with the assistant VAR before confirming the final decision to the on-field officials jackpot
One of the talking points from the latest round of fixtures was referee Michael Oliver’s decision not to send off Manchester City’s Mateo Kovacic for a challenge on Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard jackpot
The City midfielder was shown a yellow card before avoiding another shortly afterwards and Webb later admitted Kovacic was “fortunate” to stay on the pitch jackpot
Oliver will referee Sheffield United’s home game against Manchester United on Saturday jackpot

Bill Kenwright, the chairman and former owner of Everton jackpot football club and a hugely influential West End producer, has died at the age of 78 jackpot
A board member since 1989, Kenwright became Everton’s chairman and majority owner in 2004 jackpot
In 2016 he oversaw the sale of 49 jackpot
9 per cent of the club – including half of his own stake – to Farhad Moshiri, who became majority shareholder two years later jackpot
Kenwright remained active at the club under Mr Moshiri and was working towards the proposed sale of the Toffees to a new owner, 777 Partners jackpot
Beyond jackpot football, Kenwright was a giant of theatre production, best known for the long-running Blood Brothers and the hugely successful Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat jackpot
He also built his own music label, Bill Kenwright Records jackpot
After undergoing surgery to remove a tumour several weeks ago, Kenwright was kept in intensive care, the club revealed at the time, but had returned home to continue his recovery jackpot
In a statement on Tuesday, the club said: “Everton jackpot football club is in mourning following the death of chairman Bill Kenwright CBE, who passed away peacefully last night aged 78, surrounded by his family and loved ones jackpot
“Everton’s longest-serving chairman for more than a century, Bill Kenwright led the club through a period of unprecedented change in English jackpot football jackpot
“A lifelong Evertonian, he became a board member on October 23, 1989, and then on jackpot Boxing Day 1999 his True Blue Holdings consortium acquired the club jackpot
Initially vice-chairman, he succeeded his close friend Sir Philip Carter as chair in 2004 jackpot
“In his 19 seasons as Chairman, the Club secured 12 top-eight finishes, including a top-four finish in 2005, a run to the 2009 FA Cup final and European qualification on 6 separate occasions jackpot
“The club has lost a chairman, a leader, a friend, and an inspiration jackpot
The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Everton are with his partner Jenny Seagrove, his daughter Lucy Kenwright, grandchildren and everybody who knew and loved him jackpot
”Everton owner Farhad Moshiri wrote his own tribute to his “great friend”, describing Kenwright as “a special soul, a man successful in so many different walks of life” jackpot
