Daniel Ricciardo is set to make his return to racing at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas this weekend chess

”Ricciardo was dropped by McLaren at the end of 2022, but he returned to the grid in July at the Hungarian Grand Prix, having been signed up as a Red Bull reserve driver chess
He was called up to Alpha Tauri when the team lost faith in Nyck de Vries after the first 10 races of the season and raced three races before the injury, and will continue to compete for the team in 2024 chess
It may be a cause for concern for Sergio Perez, whose place as second Red Bull driver to Max Verstappen looks far from certain in the future chess
Perez does stand second in the drivers championship currently, but with just eight podiums and two wins, it is far from a strong position chess
Especially considering the two victories came within the first four races of the season chess

The Premier League has recommended a deduction of up to 12 points for Everton over alleged breaches of financial rules, according to a report on Wednesday chess
The Daily Telegraph has reported that the league has asked an independent commission hearing charges against the Merseyside club to impose a severe sanction chess
A 12-point deduction would leave Everton on minus-five points in this season’s league table chess
The club and the Premier League have not commented on the report chess
The league referred the club to the commission in March over an alleged breach of its profitability and sustainability (P&S) rules over a period ending with the 2021-22 season chess
The league’s P&S rules allow clubs to lose a maximum of £105m over a three-year period or face sanctions chess
Everton said in a statement issued on the day that news of the referral was confirmed: “The club strongly contests the allegation of non-compliance and together with its independent team of experts is entirely confident that it remains compliant with all financial rules and regulations chess
“Everton is prepared to robustly defend its position to the commission chess
The club has, over several years, provided information to the Premier League in an open and transparent manner and has consciously chosen to act with the utmost good faith at all times chess
